I have an old (maybe 30 years) oil fed boiler that is smoking. We ran it dry of fuel last winter, and it sat all Summer dripping water from a pipe. I am sure some water and possibly oil got into the system somewhere. We finally filled the tank back up for the coming winter and we fired it up. Lotsa smoke from the front of the boiler. We had a tech come out and replace the nozzle, clean everything and replace filter. Did not help. He says to buy a new one... but that is his job, to sell. When it is on, it seems to be working fine, just lots of smoke. So we have to choose, to live, or to be warm. I choose live... please help. Do I have any options for a fix? Thanks.
