What makes a boiler bad? A boiler holds water and accepts heat from a fire, no more. If the boiler comes from the factory with a leak, it is bad. Otherwise, an inadequate installer can kill a boiler with leaks in the system so oxygen corrodes parts and limes it up, or he makes the boiler bang and hammer from inadequate flow by not knowing enough about water flow through circuits and pump head applications.

In short, all you are going to get is bad opinions from people who have been subjected to inadequate installers and happy opinions from people who had good installers. The boiler is a neutral winner or victim.
