Very interesting. . . I think I understand what your saying. Maybe I'll just go straight to the house HW line from the tempering valve off the coil then. Since I already have the electric heater, I think I'll plumb it in parallel with shutoff valves so I can switch to it if I'm ever out of oil, or the boiler breaks, or hell freezes over, etc.
