Help needed. I recently brought a brand new raised ranch with nobasement. The second floor is taking about 3 hours to raise 2 degrees (68F to 70F) even when the outside temperature is around 20C

Where as the first floor takes only 1 hour to raise 10F
(ie. from 60F - 70F).

I had talked to installer about this he is saying this is normal.

Can any one tell me what might me actual problem ???


House and boiler Specification:

Construction consists of 2x6 with R19 exterior walls with R30 ceiling insulation.

Heating systems consists of two zones with baseboards installed in series.

Heating system elements are as follows:

Boiler: Slant/Fin VHS 90 I-B-R rating 68000
Circuator : Taco 007-ZF5-IFC for each zone
Expansion tank: AMTROL 30


First floor Zone 1: 600 sq feet area

Total Loop length 120 feet: 1/2inch wirsbo hepex tube connecting the baseboards in series

Haydon Heatbase 750 Baseboard: 25 feet
rated @ 580 btu/hr for 1 gallon flow of hotwater at 180F

Second Floor Zone 2: 1400 sq feet

Loop Length: 1/2inch wirsbo hepex tube for 200 feet Haydon Heatbase 750 Baseboard: 55 feet
rated @ 580 btu/hr for 1 gallon flow of hotwater at 180F
