I am replacing my 40 year old Gas General Motor boiler and 15 year old 40 gallon gas hot water heater this spring.
The current Genaeral Motors boiler is an 80K BTU, The new boiler is a Peerless MI-05 140K BTU. The new boiler has an efficiency of 80%. With the new boiler would I be better off with an indirect hot water heater or should I just install another gas fired hot water heater. If you do recomend an indirect, what size should I go with? My current 40 gallon gas seems like a good size, but I would like to error on the high side for a replacement.
