hi. i was just wondering if you ever found out what was causing that smell because i have the same problem. the radiator in my livingroom is making an awful smell. like oil or a dirty candle. but the radiator in question heats up just fine; the hotter it is the worse the smell. hasn't burned out in about a week and the super said "oh that's just the smell of the heat. it's normal". i want to smack him. this smell makes me sick if i breathe it in too much so i know it's not normal.anyway, let me know if you have had any resolution. thanks!

: I live in an apartment on the second floor of an older (1940s) row house with steam heating.

: I have noticed an oil smell coming from the radiator in my living room for some time. Also, that radiator does not produce a lot of heat. What is strange is that all the radiators in the other 3 rooms seem to be working okay, it's just the one in the living room that has a problem.

: I spoke to the owner and she told me that after she bought the house a few years ago she switched from oil to gas heat.

: If anyone has a clue to what's going on here, please let me know. Thanks!
