i have an old boiler hot water system that may have once been used for domestic hot water but now there is a separate hot water heater. do i still need an aquastat to keep the boiler warm and control the circulator pump? or does the thermostat control the pump? I've been told two different things. 1. - the bolier will heat the water as the pump pushes the water through the coil. 2. - the water must be heated in the boiler first then pumped through the system. What is the correct sequence of operations?
