Your blatter in your expansion tank probably broke and is now filled up with water. Try to Drain the expansion tank. turn water off to expansion tank, drain it, then turn the water back on. This way you will have some air in the tank. Pressure should go back down to 15 psi. Best is to replace the expansion tank.


: I have a Burnham furnace with an extrol expansion tank, have lived here 23 yrs., so furnace is older than that, usual press. is 15 this season it goes to 35 heated, does exp. tank need air? I have no instruction, have never had anything done to it, my heat/AC man doesn't seem to know about hot water systems, am scheduled to have it replaced in about a month with forced air unit.
