Thank you for taking the time to comment on my posting about the replacement of my oil burner. To answer your question, the gentlemen said that he could not get a 7" steel liner down the existing chimney because of the condition of the clay liner that is in there now. He said he only use a 6" Ventinox liner. They actually tried with a short piece of 6" liner to test it and even that got stuck. I guess the old clay liners have shifted.
Actually, I am sure he would do a 7" if it would fit, but I feel like I have to take his word for it. I am calling two more installers to have them check and maybe one of them might have a solution. I don't want to use aluminum, which I understand stalls more easily.
