I agree Installing a boiler is not that difficult. What I did my first time was run all the piping wiring before making any connections. I followed the Manufaturers piping diagrams and read the entire manual before Begining.
After I double and tripled check my connections and wiring I called a local plumbing contracter and they made the gas connections and double checked the piping etc. They only charged me to do a combustion analysis and to connect the gas line.
Pretty reasonable. Took me two days but system runs great. Steam heat is diffrent and would recommend a professional. 4,800.00 seems very reasonable for a new boiler piping etc.
The Heatinghelp.com is also a very valuable place to locate a contracter.
