i've got a vaillant combi heater (vcw....t3w) in my flat and recently it's stopped being able to produce hot water for more than a brief burst (ie. if i run a bath, it runs warmish for the first few minutes, then goes cold again). i've had a look at it and it seems that the flame is unusually yellowish and the kitchen (where the boiler is situated) has a bit of a gassy/woody smell to it.
unfortunatly, replacing it is out of the question, as it's a rented flat, as is getting the landlord to do anything about it (haven't seen him since june, and he refuses to do anything about the 4" hole in the roof, or anything else for that matter).
any help would be greatly appreciated as a) i could really do with a bath without having to boil endless kettles up, and b) i don't really want to get gas poisoning.
thanks in advance
