Nothing wrong with them. Just look up the Burnham or Thermodynamics' dry base models. They normally are under 85% efficency. They are lower priced boilers. I doubt you'd get 20 years out of a dry base boiler. I also have a Thermodynamics dry base and find the boiler boiler fires frequently as it cools off very quickly. All of the metal stress on the boiler is concentrated on the underside of the water vessel. Top of the line manufacters like Buderus, Viessmann don't even offer low end models like this.
