Sticking Zone Valve

I have a problem with a Taco zone valve occaissionally sticking. What's happened is, I've noticed that the room controlled by this zone is cold. The thermostat calls for heat, but the zone valve does not open. I go in the basement and manually open the valve. After doing this, the valve works fine next time the thermostat calls for heat. So, I guess either 1) the powerhead is faulty and sometimes does not work or 2) the valve itself is sticking and the powerhead can't open it. My guess is #2 because when I manually open it, it does seem harder than the other valves to open. Is there some way to lubricate the valve? Or could it possibly be something in the pipe? Any suggestions. Thanks.
