: i was advised by our local plumbing supply, that if i counted the number of feet of base board i had and X's by 500 that would give me the btu boiler i needed.I have appr. 80' of bb and i now have a 70,000 btu weil mclain boiler to install. I just dont think this is right. The old boiler is american standard it looks like the output is 135,000, but i am not sure if the 1 in the 135,000 is an I, the plate is old.
