If it lights up nice and smart when you reset it, then the oil, air and electric are probably good, but maybe borderline. The cad cell may be a bit dirty to see the flame or air is getting hot in fuel line once hot causing sputtering and the cell looses sight. The controller is probably fine. Has it been tuned in the last two years?
