I have this low mass boiler that only has about a gallon of water in the heat exchanger at any one time. We have had problems with noise and the water overheating whne running only one or 2 zones.
The rep has said that a buffer tank to increase the circulating volume in the primary boiler loop would be the answer.
I called the local HVAC supply house, and the 120 gallon buffer tank has a list price of $5000!
Are there cheaper models out there or can something else be used as a buffer tank?
I was told by the rep that due to the size of our boiler (300kBTU), we need an 80 or 100 gallon tank.
Thanks.
Dave
