In my new old house I have the thermostat set at 70 F in the evenings for the one way steam heating system. Yesterday it was like the steam was going to blow off the whole house. The temperature on the Honeywell thermostat was 70 F (not sure if that is the set temperature or the actual temperature near the thermostat). Most of the radiators were puffing and susssing (word just invented) at the shot off valve (because for the first time the radiators were all the way not just firt half and the air valve now works I just changed them). It was like the thermostat was set up at a much higher temperature than 70F. Manually I lowered the thermostat from 70 to 68 F and after 5 min put in back on resume program (70 F). And after that the phenomenon did not happen again. Any clue what's going on? Thank you.
