As a primary loop IS a bypass in itself, putting another bypass in the primary loop is a strange concept. If the primary loop IS a primary LOOP then it goeas around in a circle. Do you mean that the boiler was part of the primary loop and the water went through the boiler to get around the primary loop? If so, there was little importancce to making the primary loop a loop without the boiler and putting the boiler into the loop with a supply and a return about a foot apart, as would the secondary loops. A picture would have to be somewhat large to get all that in.
