Turn Off Radiators to Conserve Fuel?

I have an old farmhouse with single feed
One thermostat, steam, Oil fired Heat.
The previousl owner removed two radiators
for no reason. I reinstalled them.
From cold start to steam output takes about
1 hour.
I was wondering that if I shut off several
radiators in upstairs bedrooms (not being used)
Would I get any SAVINGS, or QUICKER heat?

I suspect that the run time would be the same,
and that the temperature of the steam is also
the same. So no benefit...

I plan on installing insulation on the floor of
the atic once the boxes are moved and I can
replace the 14-16" wide planks with plywood.
This might be the best payoff.
