Crack in radiator

Hot water boiler system

My only radiator in the Attic as 3 cracks that all start from the bleeder valve area. All the cracks have water leaking out of them. I drain my system to replace all the bleeder valves this year. I filled the system this weekend and found out about these cracks. I'm in the process of remodeling this Attic room so heat is not really need until I'm finished which many not be until next spring.

Will I have a problem if I cap off the supply and return pipes? I'm worried about air in the system. I normal have to bleed air out this radiator once or twice a month while the boiler is being used.

Another Idea I talked over with my father in-law was maybe replacing with a hot water baseboard. When I was looking at one at Homedepot I noticed I would have to do some soldering if I want some type of screw on piece because the ends are not threaded. I never solder copper pipes together so I'm unsure I want to go with that idea.
