Boiler Pumps and Zones

As part of an addition on my home, I'm having my old HydoTherm 2-zone boiler replaced. The current boilder has 2 pumps (one for each zone). With the added space on my home, the new boiler will have 3 zones (the two existing plus ~980 sq feet of new space). The furnace guy wants to hit me up $600 to $700 for two new pumps. He says I get one (for the new zone) that was included with my quote and says I should replace the two I have. Isn't it possilbe to have 3 zones but only one pump, and still control the water flow to each zone? Does $600 to $700 sound right for 2 pumps?
Any help with this would be appreciated. I don't know much about boilers. Thanks in advance.
