great info thanks

so the key is to correctly estimate a boiler before choosing one and this spurs up a new question :

a salepearson came to my place and he suggested I replace my old furnace by a 300 000 BTU laars unit which to me seems kind of big for my 3 stories + basement 1250 sqfeet/floor 1920's build appartement complex. Do you agree ?

The problem I got for size estimationis is that i can't find the BTUs that my actual boiler puts out, the sticker seem to have been ripped off... I'll check the brand of the unit tonight and try and start from there.

Finally the saleperson is offering a price of 6658$ for purchase and installation of the Laars Raypack 305. This include putting a sleeve in the brick chimeny of the building for smoke evacuatiion is this necessary ?
