Weil-McLean Gas Fired Boiler

I just got a quote from my plumber for a gas boiler replacement. (my current boiler is over 30 years old and has a winter/summer hook-up? - no hot water heater). We have baseboards throughout and use natural gas. We live in suburban Philadelphia.

My plumber has advised and quoted the Weil-McLean Model CG - 6 Gas Boiler along with an Amtrol 41 gallon Boiler Mate. The quote also includes several valves and several digital thermostats (I don't have the quote in front of me so I don't know the specifics). He has quoted $5900 for the job.

I generally trust my plumber (who we have been dealing with for several years) and do not normally get competitive bids but the cost seems a bit high.

I am looking for feedback on two things:

1) Does the price seem reasonable?

2) Are there any other HIGH EFFICIENCY (greater than the Weil McLean which has an 83 or so rating) gas boilers that we should be considering

Thanks in advance for any and all comments!!
