: The V1-5 boiler is most likely from the 1970's when Burnham took over the American Radiator patterns. Burnham is up to the V-8's now. Is it just curiosity to find the age? It really doesn't make much difference, the boiler could last another half-century as long as no leaks are allowed in the system.
Thanks, Heatpro! I am part curious and part skeptical of the oil co. My home inspector said the manufacturing datecode is at the beginning of the serial number (the part that is torn off) and the oil co. rep said it is at the end. Since I couldn't find any info on the Burnham site, I was seeking some confirmation. If you could confirm, the model tag is V-15A-T, not V1-5. I see that they are only up to V-8, so I guess it is the V-1 series? Should I be confident of this? Thanks again, just trying to get to know my house as a first-time homebuyer! Thanks again, Scott (half-century sounds good, will take care of system!)
