The MC 75 is just a small gas boiler sitting on top of a 30 gal SS tank (82% efficent) Only get a combo if space is very limited in the home. Some combo's have small storgage tanks or use a tankless coil or flat plate heat exchanger to heat water, so don't expect a ton of hot water. I don't like putting a boiler in an unconditioned crawl space, less efficent. I would rather use a combo to keep the boiler upstairs in a closet. But I would look into geting a small 30 gal. lowboy tank and put a small high efficency gas boiler over it on a stand. Checkout Peerless Pinnacle, Heat Transfer Product's Munchkin boiler, Laars Endurance. Wall hung boilers like NY Thermal's Trinity, BAXI Luna are modulating combo's also.
