They came to the house, but only looked at the existing setup in the basement. I'm considering the water heater as part of the new boiler, but that is over $1500 compared to the $369 Richmond (Rheem) power vented stand alone unit I can put in myself. It is supposedly 83% efficient. Neither of the sales guys suggested the integrated water heater - I had to ask. I don't really feel the "sized" they boiler, they just looked at was already there. They did come out about $200 apart on the quotes. Thanks for the input.

: I would run away from any company how could size a boiler over the phone!!!!!! You need a good heat loss done on your house to do it properly. Also- why a new hot water heater?? I would get an Indirect hot water heater that hooks to your new boiler, it doesn't have a vent, and is the ultimate in efficiency!!!
