: We have oil heat with cast iron heaters (with nice box covers) in all our rooms. we are redoing the two bedrooms and want to know if we can use the baseboard heaters with fins in just those two rooms?

: What do we need to know to do this?
: Thanks

I assume you have a hot water system right? It's not recommended to mix copper fin tube with cat iron rads on the same loop. No problem in running a seperate loop to the new bedrooms. As long as your boiler has extra BTU's to feed the new space. Most boilers are oversized and new insulation/windows helps reduce the load in other parts of the house. Just put in a seperate thermostat and you'll need another circulator. You should find out what the current water temp is running at now nad calc out how many feet of BB you need to put out to match the heat loss at design temp (lowest outdoor temp of the season).
