Soon, Hopefully, I will be turning down my 50 year
old steam boiler and ancient (but fine) single feed
radiators for the summer. What preparations should
I need to do?
Is it better to raise the water level High?
Or lower it? to minimize oxidation in the boiler.
Do I put an additive in the water?
Would it be wise to fire the boiler occasionally?
With fuel oil at $1.39 I can hope summer comes soon.
