OK ! The exp tank is an Extrol M/N 30... It had
20 psi in it from the installers of the V73. I adjusted it to 12 psi... The PRV is a Conbraco #30
The relief begins to vent a boiler pressure gauge
setting of 20 PSI... The guage is new, but yeah, that might not mean anything. If the Extrol
bladder went, would the can still have air in it?
And if it did, shouldn't it have cushioned the expansion of this little volume of water? I've been dealing with large commercial hydronic systems for many years... but embarassingly, I just don't get this one ! I'm now thinking that the PRV may be weak or fouled.
