i'm living in an apartment complex, and wondering if anyone has any information regarding a regular residential radiator.
i have an idea how it works... hot water boils in the boiler in basement, and is sent through pipes throuhout the building, and eventually when it gets to my apartment, the water turns into steam and heat radiates from the metal radiator. anyway, if that's wrong, someone tell me. from not studying boilers, that's what i assume happens.

anyway, my main concern is this:
i want to be able to regulate my radiators a little bit better, however , how can i do that without fearing that my radiators are going to explode while i am asleep? i want to keep warm, but i don't want to hear them scream either. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
