Hi. I really need some advice...
Prior to moving into our co-op, all untilities had been shut off for over 6 months. When we moved in (June) we had difficulty establishing hot water due to some "safety switch" on the Trianco Heatmaker II (Well, that is what the first guy said). We had hot water for bits and spurts, and then called another repair company. The second repair guy said that the water was getting too hot and then forcing itself to shut off, as a safety mechanism. This was early July. Ever since, our hot water has run hot, but consistent. Now, we have tried turining on our heat (simply moving the wall thermostate to 60-75) and waiting for over an hour. No heat. Any ideas of what this could be? I don't necessarily trust either company. Both companies mentioned that our building is the only one in the city with Heatmakers and that they are the only ones who know about repair. They seem to "have" us. I would like some insight before I go and call the repair company again. Is there anything we should be doing to the actual Heatmaker Unit to get the heat to come on?
