The burner should be inspected for proper firing. The burner should not lock out during the heating cycle and should come on every time the thermostat demands heat. Get an oil service person in to make the heat automatic. The gauge can be replaced easily, but make sure the passages in the pipes that hold the gauge and the pressure control are open and clear before installation. You can ask the technician to do that job as well.
