Cutting cost of new boiler...

I'm going to have an ancient boiler replaced in the near future, and I was wondering if some of the pro's here
could answer this. If I were to do the demolition and removal of the old boiler, would there be any appreciable savings
for me? If it would save 10 to 20 percent off of a $5000 replacement I'd certainly be up for it. However if this would only knock $100
or so off the job, I'd just as soon let the contractor do it. If you have any other suggestions as to how to keep the cost down, I'd certainly welcome them.
Thanks for taking the time...John Bateman.
