Once a hot water system is in place, maintenance for them is much the same for all. Keep the water that has lost its oxygen inside the unit and try not to add fresh water with its contaminants - its a sealed system. This means fix leaks quickly.

Have the burner inspected yearly at least to make sure it is working properly and safely. There are other hints at http://www.hydronic.net
