I understand that PEX Tubing/AquaPex(Wirsbo)should not be installed in soils that are contaminated with solvents and other organic compounds because it is susceptable to permeation by these compounds. If that is true, and if the PEX is the source of the home domenstic water supply, should it be installed in the ground under the concrete floor where the soil has received a termite pretreatment of 50% solvent and 50% pesticide? Several reputable sources have advised that polyethylene pipe is completely non-resistant to unsaturated chlorinated hydrocarbons, turpentine, etc. Is this also true of cross-linked polyethylene pipe manufactured via the Engle process? Thank you for any information you can provide.
