I am also hopeful of sticking the business-end of a Stirling Cycle engine into the firebox to run a small 12v or 24v generator to charge batteries / run circulating pumps. I would appreciate any and ALL thoughts you might have on such a project. Especially interested in info on auto coal-handling and temp/fire control, 12 or 24v controls / pumps, waste-oil burning, Stirling Cycle Engines and coating for copper pipe (for bury in existing basement slab) to prevent corrosion. This is an older home, about 1,600 sq ft, 800 in basement (slab), 800 first floor (wood). (Story in local paper: farmer heats 2,700 sq ft home and DHW w/coal at $200 / YEAR !!!). Please share your thoughts with me on this project.
