Just found this site so this is a pretty late reply. Correct your oil burner at 1GPM would be about 140,000 btu/hr. Given the age of your boiler, efficiency nowhere near today's models. Don't size new boiler from input of old one. Get a heat loss calculation done. Old one may have been oversized or house may have had insulation or replacement windows installed in the 25 years since this one was put in. I wouldn't be surprised if after a load calc done you wind up using a 120,000 at most. Most boilers now 80% eff. and up.
