Steam leaking from threaded joints

My boiler was incorrectly piped when installed 2 1/2 years ago, resulting in tremendous water hammer. Finally the installer agreed to repipe it. Now I have steam coming from about 5 or 6 places on the 3 1/2 - 4 inch pipes carrying steam away from the boiler. The steam is coming from the threaded joints. There is blue 'sealer' around the threads but steam is coming from them as well as those that I can't see sealer on. Will they 'set' themselves with use? What should he do to fix this? This has to be dangerous and can not be right. I didn't have this when he put the first set of pipes in, nor when another plumber made a temporary fix to re-slant some of the pipes to keep water from running away from the boiler. Please help!! Thanks.
