Most likely you have a flow check that is stuck in the open position allowing the hot water to rise by gravity. If you have zone valves, then one of them is not closing properly.
: My husband and I are new to water heat so we know very little. Our problem started about the time it began to warm up outside. The heat upstairs does not cut off. We would cut the thermostat upstairs off but it continued and then he took the thermostat off to replace it and even though none of the wires are touching the heat still is coming on and we are puzzled by this. Can we fix this ourself and even if we cannot what could be the problem? Any help would be very appreciated. Thankyou. S. Bishop
