my feeling; the heat exchanger is blocked, that is causing overheating of the combustion chamber, cause the bricks to cracks, cause the combustion gases to passed by those cracks, causing overheating of the sheet metal where your electronics components are installed..... plus, because your heat exchanger is blocked and the boiler is cycling on and off too often, some of the hot exhaust gases passed under front wall of the boiler and heat the outside of the front wall where the electronics are installed....unfortunally after 15 years of age for a gas design who probably need; a kit of firebox a new kit of burners and a tray , a rebuilt exchanger and a major tune up,better to replace the unit... sorry.
