My parents' hot water heater runs out of hot water every single time when 2 or maybe even 3 people take showers, one right after the other. We haven't really had such a big problem before about this but we have slowly grown accustomed to it and just wait for the hot water to return when the next person needs a shower.
Is this normal? We have a 52 gallon tank which is pretty dated. When the family went to a friend's house that is relatively new, he had an 85 gallon tank if I remember correctly. Plus that guy is living by himself! Do we need to buy a bigger tank, repair the current one, or do some other fix? Thanks for any help!
