I finally got a service man to "fix" my boiler problems. The only thing wrong with it was I had shut the bleeder off as I had been advised. This was the cause of my "hammering" noise. The neatest part about my problem was the fact that the service man reads these posts and knew about my problem before he came here. What a "small" world. Thanks to Mike as he has given me the reassurance that everything is fine and operating as it should be.
