I think that if you you look at the Tarm specs, it is a "gasification" boiler, not a combo. It drives combustible gases out of wood and burns it as a nice blue flame. Vehicle engines have even been run on wood with this method. NY State and many insurance companies would not allow a gas vent to be joined with a wood. One big risk is someone lighting a wood fire with a flue that is already hot from a gas fire. You get the same thing as a slicker opening a wood stove and throwing waste paper into it, a new place to live with or without the insurance companies help. Check your policy first.
