I have a three zone system in my home, with a wood boiler outside. I have Two zones upstairs and one large zone downstairs. My system is run by one circulating pump. The problem is, when I have any zone open upstairs and my basement zone open at the same time, if my basement zone valve closes while the circulating pump is still running it causes my pipes to hammer. This only happens when this sequence occurs. Is there a solution to this problem?
