draining and refilling HB Smith boiler

I need to replace a baseboard radiator which I know how to do. I have a forced hot water heating system. The new radiator unit specifically states that the heating system should be drained and refilled to prevent the flux from corroding the system.

The question is how do I drain and refill the system. I have a rapid fill lever and vents at each radiator.
What is the proper procedure, including when do I open and close the vents? Do I need to add any anti-corrosion additives.

Also, I have been reading that I (possibly) should be blowing down the system once in a while. I am new to hot water heating. How often should I do this (if ever) I have had to do this on steam systems. Is it essentially the same thing.

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!
