Hi,
I have a Weil-Mclain 68 oil fired Boiler Part# 550-110-486/0890wp. I am having a problem with the water not staying hot enough so I called a Oil service company and they came out to look at it. I wasn't here at the time, my wife was. She told me that they said we needed a new coil and a new mixing valve. They quoted me a $500.00 bill.

First does that price sound reasonable.

Second, I think I could replace the mixing valve because it is outside the furnace and it looks fairly simple but where would I get one and how much would it run me?

Third, I was reading some of the other posts and I saw someone said that the coil may need de-liming. Is that something that could be done and would it be cheaper than getting a new one. Is it something I could do Or would it be wiser for a proffesional to do it?

Well I hope someone can help.
Thanks,
George
