You are getting a lot back about the slow return of condensate. That will certainly aggravate your condition. Watch your waterline through a cycle with no auto-feed. If it is bouncing at all, skim it so less water goes upstairs. Shut off the boiler when it gets to the lowest waterline and time the water coming back. If your waterline goes below the safe line marked on your boiler, the blr may be too small. If all looks ok, your feeder should be lowered a bit at a time or the time delay lengthened. The condensate does not wait for the pressure to drop to start back unless you have problem piping that needs the vacuum broken if the pipe is full and pressure doesn't equalize over it to allow flow as it should. Monitor it well. And watch often for any leaks. If you quit going near it at feeding time ever again, you could lose it fast if you don't spot leaks when they start.
