We have a WM MGB 5 boiler ina single pipe steam system. The boiler is about 19 years old. When the steam pressure get above 1 psi, steam can be heard escaping in the draft hood. This happened before about 5 years ago and a section neded to be replace. The Pressuretrol is set as low as it can be. No water is leaking. We know that this boiler is going to need to be replaced at the end of the season. I just wonder if anyone has any experience with this problem and can give me an idea how long the boiler can last in this condition. It hace been doingthis for about 2 months now.
