there should be a valve on the top and bottom of the glass tube. you need to close both of them. then at the bottom of the glass tube there is a brass fitting called a petcock. put a bucket under the tube to catch the sediment and water (becareful because this water will be very hot, steam will also come out.) the petcock can be opened by using a wrench same as any other bolt ( righty tighty lefty loosey). Open the bottom valve after you have loosened the petcock the water and sediment should come out of the glass tube.
