it can be done, is your system steam or hot water?
if hot water, you can fill a tank with distilled water than pump it into the system till the desired pressure is reached.
you probably wont have automatically refilled system then tho. but thats okay as long as you install a low water cut off somewhere on the system in case of a pipe leak.
there is probably a multitude of ways you can accomplish what you want.
